WELL HUNG at Home with Tessa Tran of Cremona
The Cartorialist Questioner
Name: Tessa Tran Location: Highland Park Profession: Jewelry/Swimsuit/Candle maker

Tessa Tran is a modern day Renaissance woman. Whether it's designing jewelry for Chan Luu, making beautiful candles out of her very own kitchen or designing the perfectly simple one piece bathing suit (Cremona)- everything Tessa creates, is in a word- cool. I got to visit Tessa at her Highland park home deemed "The Milo House". She lives there with her hilarious entrepreneurial boyfriend Zach - whom I coincidentally met on a summer program 15 years ago. The two have built a home that exudes style, warmth, and personality. See and read below to learn more about Tessa and her gorgeous living space.
How would you describe your design style in 3 words?
Minimal, texture, quality.
What is a song you are listening to on repeat right now?
Where do you go to get inspired?
I get inspired everywhere. Color combinations I see- like at the LA flower mart. I'm inspired by new people I meet and people's homes. A lot of nature…
Where's your go-to neighborhood food spot?
Good Girl Dinette in Highland Park (gotta keep it local!)
What's a new Instagram and/or Snapchat you recently started to follow?
What's your spirit animal?
If you could have lived during any time period in history when would it be?
60s in Paris. Free love and Serge Gainsbourg.
If you could have dinner with any person living or dead who would it be?
What is a skill or talent you wish you had?
Woodworking, although I might pick up this skill one day if I have more space!
If you could go on a month long vacation, where would you go?
I would take a road trip through the US. I travel so much internationally, I'd love the take the time to explore my own country.
When was a moment you last felt was "delightfully unexpected"?
Going to Marfa and seeing how small and charming the town was. I could see myself living here, which I would have never ever thought beforehand. People growing their own food, self sustaining, having their own businesses…farm life which I love.
Lastly, draw a self-portrait in 45 seconds- don't overthink it- just go!
